I cannot drag/drop files in project hierarchy. That is to say if I attempt to drag a file (script/animation/texture ect…) from one folder to another I cannot. My mouse cursor switches to the no symbol when attempting to do so.
I can create new folders and drag and drop into them.
Any thoughts on what might be causing this?
Having any filter (search) active in the project prevents this.
Probably having “packages” or “asset store” or anything besides “Assets” selected would also prevent it.
NOTE: just for clarity, the term “hierarchy” generally refers to the scene window, but contextually I’ll assume you mean “project” since you cannot drop files into the scene directly.
Thanks for the suggestion but there are no filters active at the moment. I assume the references to the files are damaged and need to be refreshed somehow.

The issue was google drive sync. It wouldn’t allow me to move synced files.
