Cannot get past authentication screen on 4.0 - certificate problem

Just installed 4.0 on Win 7 pro. I can’t get past the authentication screen; can’t even type or paste in my license #. The following immediately pops up, when I click OK, it all goes away. I’m glad I installed this on the PC, not the Mac I’m actually using for production work.

“Error loading page”

“Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates”

Can someone fix this ASAP please?

I was able to perform a manual activation but I had to disconnect my ethernet cable first. LOL

I had the same problem and came to the same solution.

Something about the error never let me see the option for Manual activation.

This ofc, if you are a legitimate user. If not, dont bother to look for a solution here.

This error message usually turns up due to a proxy. Unity works with proxies unless they are non pass through. Manual activation flow (as you already did) is the solution.
