Cannot save git settings but can build with same settings

I’m having a weird situation here: My git config fails, but I am able to make builds using the same settings.

When setting up the project’s git settings (“repo url”) it fails when I press the Save button: “Repo is not accessible. Please check your URL and repo settings.” - so it seems like Unity cloud build cannot access my repository.

But when starting a new build everything succeeds - it checks out from git and builds fine.

The big problem here is that I cannot change the git settings because it show the “Repo not accessible” error when I press Save.

Any tips?

Is this a self hosted git server I assume?

The raw error from our backend is “ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer”.

I see two possibilities - either some config changed on your end and you’ll have to check your server logs to track down what’s up, or you are whitelisting access to specific IPs. If you are doing any kind of restrictions based on IP, some of our backend IPs changed as of Feb 1. If that’s the case send me a PM and I’ll get you the updated info.

Thank you for your quick reply.

You led me on the way to the cause of the problem. We just moved our git from one internal server to another and the new server has an auto-block feature that had blocked your IP after a number of failed login attempts. After I unblocked the IP everything works again.

A reason why the cloud build would succeed while the git config check failed would be if your cloud build servers checking out from git are different from the cloud “git config check” servers (which they probably are). So it all makes sense.

Glad you got it sorted out. And yes our web servers will end up connecting to your git server from a different IP than our builders.
