Cannot type accent marks into the editor (but can copy-paste)

As title says. I am not able to type accent marks (i’m trying to write in Spanish) into any text field on Unity Editor Linux. I have been experiencing this issue since the first Linux experimental release (currently using Unity 5.6.3f1). I can however type without any problem other Spanish special characters like ¡¿ñ.

It’s not a severe problem -just a bit annoying- because I can copypaste text from anywhere with the correct characters and Unity displays/saves it well (as seen in the attached image) but I thought I should report it since I can’t find any post about it.

Same is happening here with Unity 2018.2.17f1 for Linux (installed via Unity Hub 1.3.2). I can copy-paste as well, but can’t type them directly.
