Hello everyone.
After searching the questions for a bit, none of them seemed to solve my issue.
It all started when prompted to update Unity a couple days ago.
The updater simply froze while trying to execute the uninstall.exe file.
Puzzled by this, i killed the process and tried running it myself with administrator mode; the program simply doesn’t start, and the file explorer window where i opened it crashes.
I am now at my wits’ end, i have tried uninstalling it with CCleaner too, but still no chance.
Any idea? I’d hate to have to completely reinstall my system for this.
i have same issue today, my project turned to webplayer and I can’t change to pc on project settings, when i run uninstall webplayer my pc freezes. I will have to wipe windows
Same issue for me on Windows 7, the file explorer window where i opened the uninstaller crashed too.
When i download and launch the exe I downloaded here : Unity Real-Time Development Platform | 3D, 2D, VR & AR Engine the plugin installation freezes during the Uninstall step.
I also noticed the uninstaller process can’t be killed too with taskkill Uninstall.exe /F
Maybe I do need root access to kill them but i can’t get it (company security system).
Hope we’ll get answers for this strange issue :\
