Cannot use Symmetric Projection with Subsampled Layout on Oculus Quest 2 in Unity 2021.3.1f1

When I enable both Symmetric Projection and Subsampled Layout in the Oculus plug-in settings at the same time the application builds, but fails to run on the headsets (even the Unity splash screen doesn’t appear, just a black screen). I’m using FFR at level 2, but that’s set after the application loads. If I select only one of the options the application runs with no issues. Is anybody else experiencing this bug? Is here any fix? I’m using version 3.0.1 of the Oculus XR Plugin package.

Try updating to 2021.3.2f1? They fixed a bug relating to Symmetric Projection, although AFAIK it was only to generate a warning if you enable it and are not using Vulkan.

Okay, will try, but I’m using Vulkan so it shouldn’t be an issue.

No, updating Unity didn’t help.

You could try filing a bug report with Unity.

Already did, hopefully there will be a fix soon.
