Cant activate personal license???

Hey, Unity editor is getting stuck on activating a free license.
This is the last error message in the editor.log file

“Could not find digest XML element in license file.”

I have no idea what it means.

I have tried:

  • Manual off line activation
  • I also tried uninstall then reinstalling Unity.
  • Deleting all Unity folders in AppData/Local and /LocalLow and /Roaming

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

It means exactly what it says

But to translate to human words: There’s a missing block of data/hashes/certificates. Occasionally antivirus and such might interfere with downloads, so if you have Defender or anything running set that to pause real-time scanning. If it’s still happening there might be a problem on their side.

Thanks for a speedy reply. I’ll try that, thanks. Where exactly is data/hashes/certificates though?

Nothing was working. Fixed it but resetting windows :eyes:. Lucky it was fresh install anyway, so no harm done.

No idea where everything is stored, At least the usual refresh worked

Having the same issue, no scanners or firewalls are working on system

Are there any actual solutions to this problem that don’t involve reinstalling windows? I’m getting this from a manual activation file I’ve created. Does this error mean there is some wrong with the file itself of with files stored elsewhere on my machine?

No idea sorry, Haven’t come across this issue since. Might pay to report it to Unity I think.
