Can't assign material at runtime

I can’t seem to get this material to assign at RunTime. Found several similar posts in Unity Answers but couldn’t get them to work either. Any suggestions?

	public void draw (string drawInfo) {

		Material newMat = Resources.Load ("Particle-Solid", typeof(Material)) as Material;
		GameObject gameObject = new GameObject();
		LineRenderer lineRenderer;
		lineRenderer = gameObject.AddComponent<LineRenderer>();
		lineRenderer.useWorldSpace = false;
		lineRenderer.material = newMat;
		lineRenderer.SetColors(Color.black, Color.black);
	}

Figured it out. newMat wasn’t loading because I didn’t have it in a folder named Resources. I had it in a folder named Materials.
