Cant connect to asset server

title says it all really. Everytime I try to connect to the asset server the connection times out. The error Reads:

Could not log in to [[IP Address]]
could not connect to server: Connection timed out (0x0000274C/10060)
Is the server running on host “[[IP Address]]” and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 10733?

I have tried bypassing my router and disabiling my firewall with no luck. I’m not sure what else it could be.

  1. What IP are you using?
    If you connect from within your LAN you likely have to use the LAN ip, you can not use the internet IP

  2. If you connect from the internet, you need to configure a portforwarding for 10733 to your server and potentially the same in your software firewall on the server

Its over the internet, and all the other members on the team can access it fine. Its just for some reason I’m not able to. I’m really at a loss for what it could be :frowning:

The server is hosted at my place, and most of the guys on the project can connect fine, but a few can’t. Port 10733 is open and forwarded properly, so I would assume it’s setup properly on my end, as we have external people connecting fine.
What would be causing just some of them connection problems?

if some can and some can not, then its potentially:

  1. the systems that don’t work have firewalls that block

  2. Are you sure, that you have created accounts for them and enabled them in the server admin

I’ve made user accounts for all of them. They are getting timeout errors, when it’s an incorrect username/password, it comes up with an error to that effect. It sounds more like a firewall issue, but I don’t understand why the client would be having the issue if they are requesting the connection (bit of a networking noob here).

I we are trying to setup asset server for our team, but we also having trouble with connection from web.
is there some news about this ?

Interesting myself and a colleague both have sky boradband - so identical routers. For both of us connecting to the remote asset server (4.x and 5.x) periodically requires a hard rebook of the sky router at our ends (the asset server is on site behind a robust commercial internet connection). Ive got no other leads currently on what the cause of that is!
