Can't delete object with command-delete on Mac OSX-Lion

Hey folks,

I feel pretty silly right now, but here goes:

When I select an object in either the Inspector or Scene windows and press command-delete on my Mac (specifically, a 2011 Macbook Air running OSX Lion), I get an error sound…and the object stays where it is. No deletion. Doesn’t matter if the game is running or not. Doesn’t matter if I’ve just opened Unity, or whether it’s been on for hours. Unity runs like a dream otherwise.

I have never successfully deleted an instanced object in Unity without going to the Edit menu. What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks (and, feel free to make as much fun of me as you wish),

K

command + backspace

Conclusion; no help. The only way I’ve been able to find on Mac OSX Lion to keyboard-delete things objects in Unity is to use Eric5h5’s suggestion to go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Application Shortcuts > “+”, and enter a shortcut for “Delete”. I ended up using command-D, as command-Delete was an invalid entry…
