When I create a new material in the project panel, it appears in the Inspector with the preview and the drop down menu set at “diffuse,” but there are no texture parameters – no place to drag a texture to – no texture box or tiling or offset boxes etc. This seems to be happening with just the project I am working on now. When I go into other projects and create a new material, the texture box and parameters are there in the Inspector. Did I accidentally do something to disable the texture parameters? Thanks.
I think I found a cure for the disappearing texture parameters. I exported my terrain with all its dependencies from my project and then started a new project and imported the terrain. Now in the new project, materials and textures seem to be working normally in the Inspector. When I create a new material, it has its texture box and other parameters. I don’t know why the problem happened in the first place. I was doing a lot of terrain manipulations, using scripts to raise the terrain and making a river etc. Don’t know if this was the problem or not, but anyway, I solved it by basically importing my old terrain into a new project.
