cant get blender models textured

hi im sorry for what is probably an easy question

i imported a terrain mesh from blender i made out of a cube and i textured it in blender using the FOREST FLOOR texture that comes with unity

when i imported it didnt work and i read on the docs that blender dosent automaticly import textures so i dragged it on and the whole thing turned green, just green, none of the acually texture mapped on to it

so i tried the standard red cube with the number on it and that turned it red but nothing else

then i tried one i found on a texture website and it turned it grey but no acual texture

so then i tried importing just a regular cube from blender with out a texture on it and draged the cube texture on it in unity and it did the same thing

what am i doing wrong???

The problem is that your model’s UV coordinates are not being exported. I’m not a blenderhead so someone else will have to tell you what the workaround here is. Search the forums for missing textures with blender. There are a few related threads.

You have to go into uv map mode and do something to the uvs for them to be imported.
