can't get lighting to work in hdrp

i tried everything i could think of but can’t get things to work only directional light works but there are no shadows

there are various locations and files you need to keep track when dealing with HDRP so hard to say what could be.

when I’ve had issues with a project made in HDRP, what I did was to create a new empty/default project using the HDRP template provided by unity (is in the unity hub). I’ve open two editors/project side by side, then I’ve carefully looked at all the settings in the editor options and all the files till I’ve found what was happening. Was not fun.

Regarding shadows there are options in the light game object, in the settings, depends of camera distance a lot of factors. and on and on

I confess i never managed to setup HDRP from scratch. various tutorials from internet are outdated, unity throws errors. A lot of time wasted. Only that hub template works.
