Cant Get Unity To Run

I am running windows vista 64 bit I believe not 100% on this because some programs that they claim dont run on 64 bit run this might be because they were never updated after making 64 bit run…

But I cant seem to get Unity to run when ever I open it it gives me the “Unity has stopped working” window extreamly quick… I have already uninstaller it and haven’t even had a chance to put in my license key.

This of course is the screen that says send error or not to send a error to clarify…

I saw another thread that claimed visual c# might cause error’s while waiting for help I will attempt to uninstall visual C# please help I need this software for work.

I’m working with Unity on Win7 64bit and was before on vista 64bit, runs without a problem.

you just have to ensure the basic stuff:

  1. DEP only for important services (or an ugly amount of exceptions)
  2. on Vista UAC is a no go for devs, on win7 you can use lowest level uac fine as well

I have no clue what you mean by any of this also Im not sure how to do this…

Can you please explain…

thank you

Think I know what was wrong I didn’t have the latest update. Well not just one update I was missing a whole service pack will see if this fixes it if anyone has any other idea’s please tell me thank you.

Just finished installing service pack 2 and still isnt working…

Do you have the pro version of windows 7? If so, just use the troubleshoot compatibility tool (right click) and set it to run under XP or Vista.

My Computer → System Properties → Advanced System Settings → Performance Settings → Data Execution Prevention → Add an entry for the Unity executable (Unity.exe in Program Files?)

OMG THANK YOU ITAmember

Your the best it works now…

OMG

Now im just upset I installed all these updates lol hate windows thank you so much
