Just can’t get WebPlayer to work in Firefox 64 bit41.0a2 (2015-08-06).
Can’t install plugins.
Is there a way to install the WebPlayer plugin?
Would be grateful for any suggestions.
This isn’t really the place to post help request. But the short answer is that Unity plug in is being phased out and you have to change the settings in Firefox to allow it.
To do so, just google how to enable unity plug in on firefox.
There aren’t many Google results on this.
The only add-on I have found from my FF-64bit add-ons menu is this:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/free-flash-unity3d-and-html5-g/?src=api
But it doesn’t work for me.
Have you tried using a version other than the nightly build? Additionally you have to re-enable the NPAPI sandbox within Firefox. It won’t be turned on by default. Until you do so, plugins like Unity’s Web Player will not work at all.

Thanks, @Ryiah .
The 41.0a2 version which I am running is not a nightly, but a development build.
I have tried to change the settings according to the post, but did not succeeded in getting the webplayer to work.
On the other hand the about:config screen also looked different; some values were different, and some options also different (integers instead true/false).
I have installed FF64, because Unity WebGL runs for me better that on the 32 bit version.
It’s different for me as well on the live build (39.0.3). They must have changed something since the news article, but I don’t know of any other newer articles.
Means @Ryiah , you have got the WebPlayer to work in 39.0.3 64-bit, haven,t you?
No, I haven’t actually tried. I was simply pointing out that the live build doesn’t have the property either. I haven’t actually tried fiddling with the sandbox since the news article was released.
I did notice it was possible to add properties that are not there by default. Part of me wonders if they simply removed the property but retained the functionality.
That’s a shame, because it looks like the WebPlayer is now and will still stay for a quite long as the best option for publishing the unity3d content in the web.
