I made a model in blender and I saved in in my project’s assets folder but I couldn’t open it in unity. What am I doing wrong?
hi I use blender as well.
I dont know what you mean for sure by “open” but All I need to do is save .blend files directly into the project’s asset folder and it has never not worked. So if you do the same no reason it shouldnt work for you. but if you are using .blend files made by someone else then I believe that you need blender installed on your computer. hope that helps.
All my .blend files are made by me with blender 2.49
just save right in and it should work.
You won’t see it until it’s added to the scene - drag and drop it from the project panel into the scene panel… If you did that and still don’t see it, maybe your normals are reversed, in which case, in edit mode in Blender, hit the W key and choose Flip Normals, save and try again in Unity.
I’ve dragged the .blend file into the scene view in unity and nothing happened. So then I flipped the normals in blender and in unity and nothing happened again and in the console it says it can’t convert the .blend file to FBX.
hrm, that’s odd - what are the details of this model? is it bigger than 65k vertices? if it’s small and not proprietary, can you post it somewhere for us to test? Is it just this model you’re having problems with, or are you able to import a simple cube, for example?
I can’t import anything. Not even a cube.
