Can't install Stealth or Robot Lab (computer goes crazy)

When I try to download and install either Stealth or Robot Lab from the asset store, the download itself seems to go fine but after a certain amount of time (an appropriate amount of time for the size of the download) my computer… goes crazy. I assume that this happens when it tries to import the assets. It’s difficult for me to describe this better, but basically what happens is that dozens of windows pop up of various applications that can’t be closed as normal. I can still sort of use the computer, but part of the screen is obstructed and I ultimately need to reboot.

Among the windows that pop up are windows from Comodo telling me that I have a virus. I’m not convinced that this is the case - this behavior only occurs when I use Unity to do this very specific thing.

Using Windows XP and Unity 4.1.2. Any ideas?

Not the first time I’ve heard rumors of Comodo complaining about mono.

I recommend telling Comodo to ignore your project folder and see if that solves the problem.

I know this thread is over a year old, but I just had the exact same problem with the latest version of Unity. I downloaded and imported a number of assets from the Unity store and when trying to import the Robot Lab package Unity hung for a bit and then started opening, I think, literally every application on my computer (obscure sound card exes, 40 instances of explorer, Steam’s screenshot folder, etc. - straight up wacked).

I swore it had to be a virus until I googled and found Guises post.

For me there was also no choice but to reboot.
