can't install unity editor

I wanted to install the unity editor because i want to make a game.
I have 282 GB free space and its says ,There is not enough space to download and install selected items."
please help i dont know what to do.

Tell us what items you are trying to install. It probably is an honest error. You are probably downloading more GBs of Unity components than your computer has space.

I can’t install editor either. I can download the editor from the website, but I need to include the android sdk things so that’s not an option since manual installing has been taken away. And before anyone says ‘Well just install it from the hub’, look at at the picture, theres no option to add the sdk. Unity has broken the editor with this hub nonsense.

That doesn’t sound right. Maybe your hard drive/SSD has a bunch of bad sectors that prevent larger items from being downloaded… Assuming you might have something you can download that meets the qualifications: Try downloading an enormous game that’s in the 60GB range for a download. See if you also get an “Out of storage” error, despite the drive declaring that it has over 250 GB left.

I don’t see how the issue can be in Unity here, as it is simply asking your driver, “how much space do you have, because I need [this much space]”. And the drive is replying, “I don’t have enough space”. I guess that Unity could be saying that it needs more than it actually does, but it seems more likely to be an issue with the drive. Normally, an error will tell you that “This application needs XX GB’s of space, but there is only XX GB’s remaining”. So it should be obvious specifically how much Unity is asking for, and how much the drive is telling Unity that it has left.

Or maybe (unlikely though) you have a quota set on your hard drive. Check the drive settings, but first try tsibiski’s idea.
