Can't listen any sound from Unity

Hi.

It may be noob problem, but I 'm in serious trouble.

What now occurring is:

  • Can’t preview Audio Clip in inspector.
  • Can’t listen any sound in editor Game tab on Play mode, even scene has Audio Source and Audio Listener.
  • “Audio: Level:” parameter in Statistics window on Game tab changes according to the scene’s sound event.
  • Built standalone executable from my project makes no sound too.

I already checked:

  • Game tab’s “Mute Audio” button not pressed.
  • “Project Settings > Audio > Disable Unity Audio” not checked.
  • OS’s sound mixer does not make Unity quiet.
  • I can listen every sound from other application.

My environment is below.

Unity version:
Version 2017.4.1f1 (9231f953d9d3) Personal
Mon, 26 Mar 2018 09:17:56 GMT
Branch: 2017.3/patch-release

OS:
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
version.1709 build.16299.371

Thank you!

I had this issue some times ago (iMac). It was some other program - Audacity iirc - that has to be closed when i opened Unity. So, try to close all programs that use soundcard, and restart Unity.

Thank you for your comment!

As you say, the cause of this problem is a soundcard!
I update soundcard driver(Realtec High Definition Audio Codecs) to latest version, (and GPU’s, in passing) then fixed it!

I’m sorry to say, in this case, other applications did not affect this issue.
Same problem occurs when only Unity launched.

It was very helpful to me.
Thank you so, so much!
