Can't open trial version with PowerPC Mac running 10.4.9

I know there’s been a problem with Intel Macs running 10.4.9 not opening Unity but I’m running 10.4.9 on a PowerPC Mac and the demo stopped working after 3 days, in which time I had updated to 10.4.9. The newsletter said this problem didn’t effect PowerPCs but it seems like it does. Anyone else experienced this?
