Can't run macOS player

Hey everyone!

Not sure this is intended: I built the player on one machine (macOS) and I am trying to run it on another. This doesn’t work. macOS states the app doesn’t run. However, it doesn’t show a strike through symbol over the app icon, so I’d assume it’s not macOS compatibility.

Is this supposed to be possible?
Does it need to be distributed using the App Store or some Apple dev ID signing?

The app runs fine on the source machine (same OS). I am using 2020.3.30f1, but I guess I built the player using 2019.x.
I remember being able to port the player to other machines using an earlier version of Unity (4 or 5, I think).

Best wishes,
Shu

It’s probably quarantined. Instead of double clicking it, right click and click “Open”.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, that doesn’t work. alt- or cmd- or ctrl-Open doesn’t work either.
In Settings → Security → General, it’s not listed as software that needs explicit approvement to run either.
