I’ve been trying to follow a couple of YouTube tutorials on the Timeline, and it seems like I can’t even achieve the simplest thing? I created a new GameObject. I went to the Timeline window to choose Create. Then I try to simply select the Animator I wanted. But nothing happens. Unity gives me the option to select the Animator, but when I select it, it doesn’t place it into the Animator slot and I still see “None.” What gives? Check the picture below to see the result of me choosing “Alien10” as my Animator.
Looks like a bug. I wasn’t able to reproduce that locally, so it may have been fixed. What version of timeline are you using?
Alternately you can drag and drop the gameObject onto the track header to bind it to the track.
Thanks! I just updated my version of the Timeline, and it works now.
I have to remember to look for updates when I see a bug! Duh!
