Can't setup RenderTexture to resolution above 512x512 under IOS

I can’t seem to change the resolution of my render texture to be 1024x1024,

I use unity 3 with iphone advanced license.
I was able to change my renderTexture to 2048x0248 when I changed platform to Mac Standalone,
but when its set to IOS I can’t. when I change it lets say from 512x512 to 1024x512 it jumps to
512x256 (maybe to keep the ratio).

I also tried changing it from code. didn’t help.

We don’t have this in the bug database and our head of iPhone development confirms that this isn’t an intentional feature. Please can file a bug report for this (menu: Help > Report A Bug), ideally attaching a project that shows the problem.
