I have the same issue, the alt tab didnt work for me
running ubuntu gnome

Edit
using the command line args doesnt work either

Same problem, running Arch Linux with AwesomeWM.
Command-line arguments not working too.

Same issue for me with gnome-shell on Arch Linux.

What are the command line arguments

I have the same issue, trying with Linux Mint and Kubuntu.

Same here on the new build released yesterday, can’t type any characters, this should be highly prioritized for the next release. Unity on Linux: Release Notes and Known Issues - Unity Engine - Unity Discussions

Work offline is a workaround for now.

Update: On 14.04 LTS

I tried to start unity from within fluxbox instead gnome-shell, and this allowed me to log in!

how to start in offline mode?

It is right on the login box. See pic.

I guess that isn’t really a workaround though. You cannot access the Asset Store and that is kinda a big deal.

Not really i think work online button spawns only after first time login

Confirmed, works on Fluxbox.
I thought that would be something related to the composition manager, which is used by gnome-shell among others but not by Fluxbox on default but I’ve checked that by killing xcompmgr and I still couldn’t sign in on Awesome.

Same problem here: Can’t type any characters at login - and ‘work offline’ button not present. Just for the records.
14.04 LTS

I’m also having issues with this - unable to type any characters in the login window. Upon hitting spacebar or enter, the launcher crashes and outputs “Aborted.” to stdout.

Running Gentoo 4.3 on NVIDIA binary driver under XFCE4.

i get it working by suggested option installing fluxbox its like 2mb, ofc siwched back to LXDE after first login

The same issue with dwm/wmii. Solved it by switching to fluxbox temporarily.

Also suffering this problem on Ubuntu Gnome 15.10, can’t even paste the details into the boxes.

Same issue here…
