car example

Hi,
Is there any working sample of a physics car over a track or terrain? Doesn’t need to be complex, as is only for learning how to setup that kind of physics in unity.
I have experience with 3dGS, 3impact and darkbasic pro with Physx and newton, and papervision3d.

Have a look at the jCar script on the Unify wiki.

Thanks Andeee,
It looks very helpful. It looks like a whole program to me, not just an attached script (am still trying to understand Unity’s structure). How do you integrate C# program into unity? Can you use visual studio? If so, how are resources and “maps” done with unity’s IDE integrated with the code?
Sorry to ask that much but it looks very interesting to me!

For the record, I also found Andrew’s tutorial,http://www.gotow.net/andrew/blog/?page_id=78, that includes project code and resources.

Just as a reference, here is the link for my 3impact engine physics car project, done some years ago with Delphi, and still compiles fine. Source and models included.

Most scripts act directly on a specific object. You create an object in the scene and then drag a script file onto it to associate that script with the object. The API contains things to allow you to control the object the script is attached to - check out the scripting manual page for further details.

My question arised because in the jcar c# I only see a whole script that does not seem to be a single object attached script. It looks more like a whole program, just like the ones that can be made on visual studio or delphi.
I guess that probably all objects scripts are somewhere integrated, like delphi code, that can be accessed through an object’s property or edited in the overall code for a project.
