Car Physics

I can’t get the Physics to look and behave correctly in a car game I’m developing…

The car just floats slowly through the air unrealistically … and rolls slowly on the ground…

Rigibody: Mass 1500, Drag 0, Angular Drag 0.
Centre Of Mass: 0, -0.15, 0
Gravity: 0, -9.81, 0

Any ideas? Thanks.

odd solution, but if you make everything smaller, it will feel faster.

its an annoying solution though as it means your maps will be too big

test gravity t -25.81 and remember it as infect in car speed.

That “floating” behavior is most probably perceived as unrealistic because of the environment, and not the physics itself: car speed & acceleration, scenery scale, etc. When everything fits into real-world scales then the perception is more realistic.

However, for this kind of arcade games the best workaround is increasing global gravity as Paulo suggested, so the perception is more realistic on jumps. The increased gravity should help as well with the slow rolls, but I’d also try adjusting the car’s physic material for more friction.
