CardGame Database

Hi to all, first time creating a game in unity but a long time c# programmer, i need to know if exist a best-practice for storing data like a card database.
My idea is to read the database file, store the tables within scriptable objects for using them during the game.
i would like to also create a card editor in unity for inserting new cards in this database.

i was thinking about xml/json/timesheet or similars.
or a local db of some sorts…i don’t really know, it’s a month that i’m researching solutions on my own…i need to put this questions in your hands!

it look like your game is not big. My suggestion is

  1. use json. It is lightweight and readable.
  2. Find some tool translate json to excel or excel to json. Unity Editor is fine, but excel is more effective.
