A couple of weeks ago, decided to spice Car Tutorial project up a bit and also learn some basics of Unity. Started from adding a minimap (basically using the script written by Rman) and splitscreen multiplayer mode⌠then âaccidentallyâ came menus, namely main menu (+ submenus) and pause menu, completely from scratch.
And so far, Iâm implementing a waypoint system now (nobody is supposed to know that! Guys on IndieDB/ModDB will know after a few days if everything goes well. :-))
Below screenshots.
The first/old version
The new version
The project will be kept open-source to the very end. Where exactly itâll be finished - dunnoâŚ
The source of the âlatestâ version:
The official website at IndieDB:
Unity tutorials written so far:
How to make a minimap
Splitscreen input
Splitscreen cameras
How to create main menu
How to create an in-game pause menu
(And minor ones about hiding cursor and replacing one soundtrack with another)
a little comment, you should look at your code. this can proberly be done in a few lines instead of the loads of if you have right now. specialy when you have 50 waypoints or suchâŚ
great work !
Their was a damage system for collisions that worked pretty well on the forums how about adding that, whats the best way of contributing to the development ?
can we use the base of this in our own games. What I mean is using the waypoint codes, the cars and minimap in our own games (So in the game we would have some of the stuff that you put together along with my own things and then publish it as a full game)
Are there any conditions in using it in my own game
And no, there arenât any conditions except that it needs to be a Unity game, i take zero credit for it. This project is entirely based on Car Tutorial developed by the Unity team, credit goes to them.
thankyou man i love your stuff i have been looking for these things for now about a month. i came across this i am just amazed. i was almost crying tears of joy
