Hello
I am very new to Unity and have a question please. I want to create cartoon style 3D Characters and backgrounds and create a funny animation , not a game.
A cartoon style animation people can watch in VR.
I was going to create the characters in Quill.
Also , can someone tell me why someone would use Unity in a 2D situation ? I dont see the point.

People use Unity in a 2D situation because they want to make a 2D game.

Well what else are you going to use?
Unity is a fairly generic game engine. So if you want to make a game, Unity is your tool.
