The description and video on the google page doesn’t help either.
40 seconds of the 1 minute video is piddling with settings and menu options, before getting to actual gameplay.
Consider strongly - focusing (first) on gameplay, showing and explaining what the game is and how it works. Add ‘extra’ stuff after you have shown what the game is and how fun it is to play.
I’d wager you will loose a lot of players from the video not focusing on gameplay right out of the gate. They will click the video - see clicking around the menu and adjusting settings, and 10-15 seconds later close the video and move on to another game. And there is still 25+ seconds of menus and clicking around still left before the viewer can see gameplay.
Unless the focus of the video was to show how nice all the non-gameplay extra stuff is, consider re-editing to show gameplay upfront, and then show extra, minor features after showing how the game plays.
Thank you guys for some feedback.
This is exactly what I was looking for
The goal of the game is to choose a matching color under certain amount of time
You are given 4 colors and 1 color generator.
The color generator will generate a color and your are suppose to choose pick that color from the 4 big color tiles
Every color you get right you additional time
Every color you get wrong you lose some time
If you lose all the time, the game is over.
You do challenges and unlock aesthetics and features of the game
I see potential with this… I’d make it where some once it gets harder, has more so like patterns inside the colors. That way it makes it more challenging… Such as when you hit 150 colors, have it where they start to look different, so you have to use quick puzzle solving with the colors… That’s what I’d do at least. Then use analytics to determine how far players are getting. If you realize they are getting to like idk 1,000 color matches, make it get super hard and challenging, so as the color choices switching positions with others.
Good job man! (I didn’t look at the video others were talking about), but did watch the new one. And I understood it right away!
Thank you so much for the feedback I really appreciate this. Yes! Your game mechanic sounds interesting and I will implement it for the future updates.
If you haven’t already played the game, go ahead and try it out. Also when you there, remember to write a quick review and leave a rating.
Much better video - the gameplay is up front which is the most important part. I’d say if you want to improve the video further, cut it down to 1 minute - 1:30 max. And keep all those extra audio setting and menu pieces at the end of the video.
Question - Is the music you used free to use, or did you purchase - get permission to use the music in the game?
I’m not a music guy however it seems Alan Walker’s Fade is being used by about half the internet over the past month.
Its pretty bad when a musical illiterate like me can identify a song even without actively listening to music.
Gotcha! The music used in the game is NCS music, However I did have to credit the artist for his work. I do agree that Fade is really popular song which was originally used for testing purposes however I ended up keeping it in there. You do unlock different tracks in the game by doing the challenges.
