Changing bone weights not applied

Hi there,

I’m using blender and whenever I change the bone weights of my animated character (after the first import) it never gets applied.

It seems this information gets stored somewhere/somehow and there is no way to clear out all this data unless you delete the meta file or save the file with a different name.
(I even tried deleting the whole library folder and no luck).

Deleting the meta file or renaming the file it is very unconvenient as it breaks all the links and settings.
Anyone knows how can we reset this information without deleting the meta or renaming the file?

Thanks!

I’m again in a situation where I have to add some new bones to a character that is referenced in many places. And like it’s always been in Unity if you have a model setup and add some new bones or modifed the weights of the bones they don´t get reimported properly into the old model. It doesn´t matter if you delete the model .meta or delete the whole library so it imports it again. The only way for it to work is to rename the model, but then I have to setup all the multiple scripts where its referenced again.

Isn´t there a easier way to update of the model/avatar/ data so it reimports everything as it was new?

I think I saw an asset for this recently (within the past 6 months). Off the top of my head - I think I have not experienced this - although I do not use blender and I can’t remember if I imported new models or not - so I’ll take your account as proof this is a bug.

Consider a bug report - sucks if this is the case!

@Mecanim-Dev has this been documented as a known issue?
