I’m new to scripting in Unity, how do you reference and change an object’s properties in the inspector?
In the inspector for an object you’ll see a section for each component associated with the entity (transform at the top, others below). Most of these will have properties associated with them that you can edit directly.
For scripts that you create yourself, fields that are public and are of a supported type (and perhaps other fields if you’re in debug mode) will appear in the editor and can be edited in the same way.
Does that answer your question? (I may be misunderstanding what you’re asking about.)
So what would I type to reference a specific gameobject’s tranform/other components?
if they have predefined properties then just . like .transform
otherwise you would use the function GetComponent(…) on the gameobject
