character doesn't affect physical objects

Right, probably a dumb issue- I have a box in my scene - it has a rigidbody and boxcollider component. I also have a camera with the character motor and mouselook scripts. I don’t pass through walls and neither do I fall through floors and can move around, however if there is like a box or something I can’t affect it (other boxes that fall on it can). What do I do?

EDIT: Okay, so I even tried the standard assets->1st person controler and set the mass of the thing I was trying to move to like 0.01 I still couldn’t push it with my character- what gives?
