Character Import Bones Error/CANNOT ANIMATE!!

Guys, I have been having this issue for months where I create a character model in 3ds max and then use Mixamo Auto Rigger to skin it. I then animate it in 3ds max and export it as an FBX. The problem is that when I import the character in Unity the model CAT bones stick out of the character and are visible. Here is a screenshot.

Okay I figured it out. When you down load the rig, download it as a regular FBX and not a Unity FBX. Also, use the original pose you sent it in with. This is if you are doing your own animations.
