Check if value comes from one list or another

I am working on a card battle game and I am trying to work out the controls for the player. What I want to happen is that if the player selects a card within their active area it will add this card to the attacker variable. Likewise if they select a card from the enemy active area it will add this card to the target variable.

I have applied colliders to these card objects but am unsure how to determine if the card that has been clicked comes from enemyList or playerList. So if from playerList goes into Attacker variable. This will be in an external controller script and wanting to know how to check if the selected object is coming from list A or B?

use LINQ it makes life easier.

i hope the entries of both the lists are either gameobject or a common script like “Card” or something, in this case when the card is clicked, you can do something like this

// objects has been clicked and obj is the name of the object.

if(playerList.Any(obj1=>obj==obj1))
{
       //Player list object selected do something....
}
else if(enemyList.Any(obj1=>obj==obj1))
{
       //enemy list object selected do something....
}
else
{
      //do something else.
}

btw remember that you have to use using System.Linq; in your script to have access to ANY function!

or you could just use Contains function to do so!

// objects has been clicked and obj is the name of the object.

if(playerList.Contains(obj))
{
       //Player list object selected do something....
}
else if(enemyList.Contains(obj))
{
       //enemy list object selected do something....
}
else
{
      //do something else.
}

the reason I introduced you to linq is becuase it would make your life easier, especially it looks like a card game, which would need a lot of data manipulation.
