I get this peculiar error message, when I try to build my application.

Okay, apparently, in one of my scenes, a few objects had strangely disconnected from their prefabs and were doing weird things. Deleting them and rebuilding them from the prefab did the trick.

I hope this will never happen to prefabs on a large scale, as then I’d be in big trouble.

This probably isnt your fix, but I just banged my head against this error for a couple of hours, resaving scenes, redownloading all assets.

It went away when I restarted my machine. :stuck_out_tongue:

Obviously something I should have tried earlier but there you go. I had restarted Unity a few times of course. Is there some sort of weird object cache process that can persist even when unity is shut down or something?

Just ran into this issue as well, restarting my computer seemed to do the trick
