I’ll put it on ActiveDen, price will be set by them. Models on Asset Store are too high, simple models are like 15-20$. I’m not sure how much should I set the price on Asset Store so I’ll put it on ActiveDen, they have some quality criteria to determine the price.

On the asset store you determine the price no? So you can ask whatever you feel is fair for your work. (Looks great btw!)

What is the poly count of the whole scene?

Whole scene (clock, board and pieces) has a 100.000 poly count. There is going to be a low poly model, so it can be used for online web or mobile multiplayer games. Currently there is fully working analog clock and custom pieces placement. I’m a chess player so I decided to create a virtual chess board where I can analyze my games. All chess rules are going to be added except AI engine, so you can use it for multiplayer games or for single player chess game analysis. It would be nice to see a next 3D Chess playing community, like Chess Cube but in 3D. I’m planing to create nine more chess sets and textures, 2D view and a digital clock.

Yes, the poly count is too high to use them in mobile platforms, but you can always create a low-poly version of the models and use the high-poly version to bake a normal map…

go wip up the lowpolys mate, will take you 15minutes, quick uvmap and some baking and hey presto looks the same runs 300000times better.

Your geometry is set for material asighnment, thats a no go in games. Use better mapping and take your time, you can quiet easily make the in game look exactly like the render with just simple tools and some time, with a poly count 100X less.

Hi digital,
I had a look on ActiveDen payment policy and I was shocked… if you sell exclusively they give from 50% to 70% depending on your sales… and in order to earn 70% you must sell minimum 75,000$ (!!!).
Why do you think that is better than Asset Store?

It’s not, there is nothing better in giving away 20%, but you can withdraw money if have just 50$ every month. I’m selling some of my projects on ActiveDen so I could finance some of my other projects like Digital Paint.

I was thinking of selling this set but now when I have created server, created 2D/3D views and some other sets I’m not sure. Now my idea is to create something like ChessCube or some similar site in 3D.

I was looking for your chess project on ActiveDen but could not find it. Did you remove it? If so is there another way I could purchase a download?
