Choosing the scale of everything

I’m making a 3D game and I was wondering - what is the best scale to choose? As far as I understand - the scale is just what we want it to be. But in the physics of unity, the default 1x1x1 cube is 1 meter, right? So maybe I shouldn’t go too far from that.
I looked at the character controller in unity - the scale, or size, of the character is about 2 cubes. So, does it make any difference in what scale I make everything?
Maybe for resizing purposes it doesn’t but for the physics.
I hope I’m clear enough, I know this is a simple and asked a lot question, but still - better to be safe before actually starting to make something.
Thank you

It makes a difference because of floating point limitations; the physics engine works best when object are about 1.0 - 10.0 units in size. Tiny and huge scales are prone to failure and strange behavior. It’s easiest if you leave the default as 1 unit = 1m.
