Choppiness with iPhone Remote (not low FPS)

I’m seeing a really annoying artifact while using the Unity Remote. Approx. once every one or two seconds, there’s a small delay (< 0.5 seconds) that makes it really hard to play. My wifi should definitely be able to handle the traffic. This is not a framerate issue, the framerate is fair except for the choppiness.

I usually create a local machine Wifi from the Mac to the iPhone to get the optimal performance.

Thanks Joachim, I’ll give that a shot =]

Hey Johan,

Did you ever get this solved? I’ve had horrendous unity remote performance (delays) since 3 came out.

P.S. String rocks

you don’t happen to use HD resolutions (iphone 4 / ipad) right?
cause that would caues that as the pixel amount is 4 / 5 times as large as previously where it always was only 480x320

Bob, the remote is working fine for me now, wrt the hiccups I mentioned. The original post is actually more than two years old (long-time Unity fan).

I’m not really dependent on good framerates when using the remote, though, as I normally just use it for a quick inspection before I deploy to a device.
