Chroma-Key Transparency

Does anyone know if chroma-key transparency (“greenscreen”) is possible in Unity either by scripting or any other method? Ideal would be a way to designate one pixel (i.e. lower left-most pixel) and have the renderer render it as clear or invisible.

Any thoughts or knowledge on this?
