Anyone remember the cheesy chroma key video cutscenes in the 7th Guest and its sequel the 11th Hour?
Has anyone created a tool or published a technique for achieving this effect in Unity? I could obviously pre-render the video on top of the game background, but I’d prefer something where the video and its accompanying chroma or alpha channels could be superimposed live during runtime.
Just render it with a simple shader that does the chroma keying - it shouldn’t be too hard at all actually.
You could also render the scene ontop of the video if you want to go the other way around.
The only shader I’ve found while hunting around the forums requires that the video be rendered out to individual image files. This isn’t ideal, given that I’d also need to maintain synch with audio. Would you point me to something that works with a video?
