Chrono:Link

Looking for a programer. I am a artist/designer with no skill in codeing

So, Chrono:Link is a thought experiment of mine to combine chrono trigger and a Zelda link to the past. But let me explain myself.

The original thought was a design theory that zelda alttp’s map hit a sweet spot in that the map size of 256x tiles was a resonable limit for the casual gamer to feel like they had plenty of room to explore. While the map was a set size and not to expansive for a single artist to make.

The second and primary thought experiment here, is that Chrono Trigger one of the most expansive games on the snes and couldnt possibly be contained in a map as small as Zeldas alttp’s map, or could it?
If it could that would confirm that 256x tiles for a topdown 2d adventure game is in fact the sweet spot(fantastic for mobile titles in modern market!) Not to large for a single artist. Large enough to explore without feeling limited. And large enough to contain enough content equal too chrono trigger.

So as stated im an artist. Ive gathered all the sprites needed. Im still working on the map. But essentaily i have all the set pices i just need a coder.

Self imposed rules as to not change the nature of the experiment:
1- 256 tiles
2- small set pices are allowed to be edited on the map. But not whole areas (this excludes editing base tiles ie. Grass)
3- combat is a up in the air decsion
4-as little edits to chrono plot as possible

Non comercial project. This is entirely a scientific venue.

You’d be better posting this in the collaboration thread
