Cinema 4d Multi -Materials / One - UV

Hello everyone. Just curious if it was possible to get multiple Materials from Cinema to Unity.

I am creating a flight line and I have a base material texture and a material w/ some taxi lines in another material with an alpha applied and was wondering if I can get this come over seamless. Everything looks great inside of cinema, but I cannot get the multiple materials over to unity.

Any suggestions???

Sure, it works… just give your object in Cinema materials with different names (important!!) using the freeze selection method…
Also make sure that your materials in Cinema have a texture in the material channel only !! No shaders, no filter effects, just one texture in the material channel.

Thanx for the speedy reply Mike.

When you say to make sure the materials in Cinema have a texture in the material channel ONLY, do you mean in the Color Channel?

I have an object with two materials named material A and one named material B and each one has a different texture map on the Color channel.

Is this what you are referring to?

The problem I’m having is that it seems that i can have two materials applied to the same UV w/ an alpha and it works in Cinema, but NO CIGAR in Unity.

Any ideas?

Should I attach the file in question?

David

Yeah, right… I mean the color channel, sorry

If their name is A and B that’s just fine. They don’t even have to have different textures in the color channel - just the name is important. Cause otherwise, just one material will be exported and applied in Unity.

Attaching the file is a good idea !

I can’t promise I’m gonna answer it as fast as my popsts now because in my timezone it’s time to go to bed.

But I’ll help as soon as I can !

I understand I’m here in the US and it is only 6pm at the moment. Here is the attachment.

You will see that it looks fine inside of Cinema, but it doesn’t quite work the same in Unity.
