hey, for the life of me i cannot import animations from Cinema4D, im hopeless
does anybody know of any video tutorials on how to do basic exporting of animations in C4D correctly and import them into Unity?
thanks
-Brammy
Which version of C4D are you using?
im currently using v9.0
although i could upgrade if needed, in order to understand the giudelines
I’m not sure about version 9.0. But I think it still had the option to export using FBX 5.0 or 6.0 I remember when I first started dabbling with Unity I had tons of trouble understanding those settings for FBX export. Cinema 4D ver 9.6 only has the option to Export as FBX 6.0.
You need to remember that there are 2 parts to this. The FBX export settings In Cinema… and the import settings once you get in Unity.
In Unity click on the Assets drop down menu and select “Import Settings”
Here’s what Mine are currently set to and animation imports are working for me. (See Settings-Unity.jpg)
In Cinema 4D 9.6 here are my FBX Export settings. They can be viewed by going to Edit > Preferences and then selecting the FBX export option in the window navigator. (See Settings-C4D)
Maybe try to go off of this as a guideline? Does this help any? I haven’t used 9.0 in awhile so I can’t really say if anything is causing problems because of that.
i appriciate the help my friend, ill give it a whirl later on, and let you know
still, thanks for the heads up
