Hello everybody, I’m very new to Unity and I am trying to implement a 2D camera system for my game. However, after installing Cinemachine from the package manager, the Cinemachine tab at the top simply does not appear. I was watching a tutorial on it and that’s where it was, but has that been changed since, or does anyone know what could be causing this issue? Thanks!
There could be many reasons here, and if you’re new, potentially overwhelming for information.
The best place to start here is probably collecting the information of your project and posting here to help others help you.
Unity version
Pipeline ( built-in, URP HDRP)
and cinemachine version
If your console tab (bottom left of your screen) has anything.
I can only assume this is a mostly empty project at this stage so I wouldn’t expect there to be package cache issues. But sometimes if an install doesn’t appear in the menus right away, the editor hasn’t cached them, you can save and restart your project and you’ll find it’s there.
Again this is likely only one potential solution.
Good luck moving forward though!
If you’ve installed 2.7.1 (the latest), note that this is by design. We’re beginning to make changes to (finally) integrate Cinemachine more tightly with the rest of Unity, which includes putting Cinemachine creation options into the more logical GameObject menu.
