Cinematics & Virtual Production package deprecation in Unity 6.1

To be fair and to be honest. I am not using any of these feature at all. But at the same time I wish unity would not just deprecate anything

But instead unity should be more open to the opensource system

All the more reason unity should expose some parts of unity engine and allow opensource community to take part easier. Most of the tooling, include ones that deprecated today, could be released into the hand of people who actually use and ready to maintain it

Cinematic and virtual production might seem like it sway unity’s focusing on the game. But in my opinion I don’t feel like it actually difference industry in this day and age. Using unity should be equivalence of using unreal and know how of the engine can be reuse in difference industry would widen the capability of user. Making animation for game cutscene or for the cinema should be the same process
