Circuit Defenders iPhone - Released

After many months of hard work, I am proud to say that Circuit Defenders iPhone 1.0 is now available for purchase in iTunes and on the AppStore.

I posted this in the “List your iPhone App here” thread, but that is so big and bloated now that I decided to also post it here.

I have to say that getting CD iPhone out the door has been an amazing challenge both in terms of taking an existing successful game and dicing and chopping it down to fit on the iPhone and then coming up with a new and intuitive interface and control system that still kept the same “pace and feel and fun” as the dekstop version.

I believe I am a MUCH better coder and designer now after completing this project and have a deeper understanding of how Unity works.

Kudos goes to the team at UT for creating such a powerful and wonderful development platform for us to flex our skills and creativity!

Congrats! Looks really slick!

awesome job, you guys make great stuff.

Thanks Curve

Does anyone have any idea why my non Australian reviews of Circuit Defenders iPhone don’t show on the Australian iTunes store? I have some really great reviews on the US store, but it seems non US stores (at least Australia) cannot see them.

Is that common? I googled it, but cant find anything of relevance.

Nice game.

I think that’s normal. This site shows reviews from all over: http://www.moopf.com/appstorereviews/

Purchased and played a few times. Some nice features such as the resume game which is a must.

I like that you can extend the range of a tower (really neat indeed). Out of interest how do you do that and detect an enemy?

well done

Hey Imparare,

Thanks for buying CD  I am glad you like it.

Each tower knows it’s own range, so when it is targeting, it cycles though all of the objects that are tagged as enemies that are within its radius and works out which is the closest and targets that, and will continue to target that enemy until it is destroyed or our of range, when it then re-targets.

It’s not too tricksy

Ah ok so you have an array of enemies and you work thru the array and see which is the closest (or something like that) as long as it is inside maybe 4 x Vector2’s.

Only interested as it got me thinking whilst playing it and was wondering what the most efficient method would be given you can have a lot of enemies/towers on the screen at one time.

thanks

Yes I like the game but then I liked the web version you made for the Unity comp a while back. The flame thrower tower is particularly good but then all of the towers are well made. You seem to have nailed the colours as well on the towers. I really cant fault it and would suggest others to check it out if they like this genre of game.

looks really polished Seon… !
Awesome work.
