Clarification on SphereCast doc

What is the direction parameter in Physics.SphereCast/All for? I was looking to RayCast a collider and then SphereCast around the hit.point to get hits around that point - but that one threw me. How can a sphere have a direction?

SphereCast sweeps a sphere along a ray, so it’s essentially a “fat raycast”. That is, it checks to see if any collider is within the radial distance from the closest point of the ray. Or in other words, it checks to see if there would be any collisions if you moved a sphere of size radius from origin in direction.

Ah - that totally makes sense then. Thanks for clearing that up!
