A while ago I made some smoke using the visual effect graph, it looks great but when I try to click things in my scene it will always selects that first (yeh its quite big). If I tap over and over it just jumps to different smoke effects and never gets to the object I want. Is there any sort of trick to get past this (I could just turn them off but Id probabyl forget to turn them back on) ? Its quite infuriating.
In your hierarchy, next to the objects name, there are options to toggle visibility and clickability.
They only show up when you hover over them, or have them checked.
wow! I never understood what those meant, thanks!! what a great feature, cheers.
It’s probably worth being aware that a visual effect that is literally filling your scene with dense layers is likely to eat crazy amounts of fill rate, i.e. be very slow to render. It could be worth replacing it with a post effect, only applying the effect near the camera, or taking some other approach which would both speed things up and probably make working on the scene a bit more convenient.
yes thats a very good point, and I have quite a few, I will certainly take that into account and optimise, thanks for the tip.
