[Closed] Unity 1.x Racing game tutorial

Hello,

is there an alternative download link for the zip files about the old Unity 1.x car tutorials. It seems that these download links are removed.

I know that the are made for Unity version 1.x but I still think that there is a lot of interesting learning material for designing a race game.

Peter.

I second that.

triple that please x)

Do you mean that one here?

Martin,

That’s correct. The pdf is presenting a lot of interesting programming topics like a score list or an waypoint system and I really don’t care that the default source files won’t function correctly under Unity 2.x.

I mailed Unity support 2 times about these zip files but the refuse to write even a simple NO.

Some alternate download link is still welcome.

Peter.

Hmm… the links above works for me? :?

Yep.

The files are again available for download.

Cheers Unity.

Peter.

I have this too… won’t run under Unity 2.0 properly but if I followed the tutorial from scratch and used my own models should it still compile and run correctly?

Also, it says that this is the second tutorial. Anyone know what the first one was about and where I can get it?

This is not the link from the first tutorial but the page gives enough information to fix the problems with the second:

Unity 1.x tutorials are no longer supported. There have been so many significant changes in the near decade since these have been released that they really do not hold any useful educational material.

There are people who personally have copies of these in the community, and it may be worth trying to find those.

Moreover - this post was laid to rest in the year 2009!

Please to not resurrect such old posts.
